ABOUT
Joanna Hadfield ascended from the ranks of New Zealand's top design house, Kate Sylvester, where over a period of three years she energetically absorbed many aspects of the business. She moved resolutely from sampling to production; from PR to sales-- and finally design. In that role she was acknowledged as having helped bring a fresh, hip new perspective to the Sylvester range.In 2005, Joanna ventured out on her own. She created the label Park, an inspired boutique fashion label which embodies an eclectic and creative sensibility that will float you away into a dreamland of silks and romantic hues. Park quickly made its way into the most prestigious New Zealand boutiques, and then into stores around the world including London, New York and Los Angeles. It received and continues to receive significant accolades from New Zealand's leading fashion house magazines, and Joanna has been recognized as someone to watch by many up-and-comers in the fashion world, and by established designers, such as Rebecca Taylor.Joanna debuted at New Zealand Fashion Week in 2007, showcasing her label Park to glowing reviews. Park was lauded by fashion editors as having a young, wearable and commercial appeal, no mean feat for a Fashion Week first-timer. Park is now in its sixth season, and still going strong.Joanna now lives in Los Angeles; and having been recognized for her unique and whimsically glamorous design flair, Joanna has also branched out into styling and hand crafting couture gowns for celebrity singers including Vonda Shepard (Ally McBeal) & Lucy Woodward (Pink Martini).
